Committees
Council
Meets once a term. The President and Vice-President are members.
The Council is the governing body of the College. It is here that decisions are voted through (or not).
Senate
Meets once a term. The President and Vice-President are members.
The Senate is responsible for the academic work of the College.
Senior Management Team
Meets once a term. 1 Sabbatical Officer is a member.
It is here where college policies are proposed and discussed, and recommendations from committees are approved.
Academic Standards Committee
Meets once a month. 1 Sabbatical Officer is a member.
Advises the Senate on the definition, measurement, evaluation and management of the quality of the College’s academic provision at all levels.
Learning,Teaching & Student Experience Committee
Meets once a term. 1 Sabbatical Officer is a member.
It aims to: oversee the development & implementation of the Learning and Teaching Strategy, identify opportunities to enhance the quality of the student learning experience and support staff in demonstrating professional standards in learning and teaching.
Equality and Diversity Committee
Meets once a term. 1 Sabbatical Officer is a member.
This committee was formed to review equality and diversity across the college, in line with its policy to sustain a learning and working environment that is both inclusive and equitable. It intends to recruit, support and promote a diverse community of students and staff.
Joint Consultative Committee
Meets once a term.
The Joint Consultative Meeting is held by the college with representatives of staff, students, and technicians unions to consult them about college practices, and review the college’s employment policies and processes.
Senior Leadership Team Meetings (SLT)
Varies from school to school, meets anywhere from once a fortnight to once a term. 1 Sabbatical Officer per School + School reps are members.
In these meetings, the Dean and HoPs from each school along with reps from B&E, ILTS and the SU meet to discuss School specific matters.
Events & Exhibitions Board
Meets once a month. The Director is a member.
The EEB puts together the overarching plans for all WIP, end of year shows and flagship College Events.
Health and Safety Committee
Meets once a term. 1 Sabbatical Officer is a member.
The Health and Safety Committee considers all aspects of Health and Safety in the college, recommends changes in procedures, develops and update the College’s policies on health and safety and monitors the implementation of the health and safety policies.
Environmental Sustainability Committee
Meets once a term. E&E Officer is a member.
Aims to platform sustainability at the centre of the college’s practises and helps the university set goals in becoming more eco-friendly.
