ACRiticaldance

Inciting Art Writing to Movement.

The society aims to provide a platform for writers and movers seeking to flex the limits of critical text. You need not be a ‘dancer’ or a ‘critic’ to take part in ACRiticaldance. You need only a body and a language.

ACRiticaldance is perhaps more a troupe than a society. The troupe will improvise choreographic embodiments of texts in gallery spaces, on and off campus. Think Adam Linder’s Choreographic Service No. 2, Some Proximity (2014), where the dancer enacted the written context of a Frieze booth by “choreographically riding the flow” of Jonathan P. Watts’ critical notes.

OPEN WORKSHOPS will be held THURSDAYS from 5.30 to 7.00pm, 5th Nov – 17th December, in the Courtyard Project Space, Kensington.

A series of complementary interviews/lectures/screenings with contemporary practitioners will be held in the RCAfe and/or Café Royal, to inform the artist’s understanding of letters and limbs.
