This December artists and designers from the Royal College of Art are setting up stalls once again to display their talents at the RCA annual Christmas Fete, hosted by the Royal College of Art Students’ Union. Taking place at the Kensington campus, this year the fete will run from Friday 9th – Sunday 11th December.
Established five years ago, the RCA Christmas Fete brings together RCA students and alumni to deliver beautifully crafted goods for the wider community of art and design lovers, and local and international visitors. Work includes ceramics, jewellery, contemporary prints, textiles and illustrations, giving you the opportunity to meet the practitioners driving forward the aesthetics of today in many different disciplines.
RCA students are at the centre of this event, as it presents them with the opportunity to share their work and ideas with a wider audience. Earnings from the fete go directly towards students at the College, who receive 100% of the profit from their sales. Last year saw an incredible £25,000 raised for students across the four day event.
This year we will again be hosting a Parents and Children afternoon, taking place on Sunday, where adults can relax in the Yuletide atmosphere while children have the opportunity to take place in our festive workshops.
So come and get in the holiday spirit with us at the RCA and pick up some high-quality, handmade pieces from the leading artists and designers of the future, at their home in the heart of South Kensington!
