Starting times at 12, 13.00 and 14.00. 5 person per class, sign-up essential.
Please book by emailing myka.baum@network.rca.ac.uk
Learn to make Anthotypes, a historic photographic process, invented by Sir John Herschel in 1842.
It is an entirely natural process, using photosensitive liquid extracted from plant matter. The coated paper is positioned underneath a positive piece of film or an object and is left to expose in the sun. The sun causes the emulsion to fade in areas that are not covered and thus creates the image.
The shutter speed varies hugely from a quick 3 hours to weeks and even months.
Please bring digital negatives or translucent flat objects. We will be taping the Anthotypes against the windows to expose for a period of time, ranging from 3 hours to several weeks.
Objects thus need to be flat and max working size for this workshop is A5.
