Merziety

Merziety

urban vs nature
Merziety – inspired by the MERZ theory of Kurt Schwitters and the historical connection between the Merz Barn in the Lake District and the Royal College of Art, who moved to the town of Ambleside during WW2.
We want to connect the RCA students with a nature and inspire a rural studio environment, through seminars, film screening and visits to historical and rural sites including the Merz barn residency opportunities throughout the year, where we will be able to make our own work, learn new skills away from the constraints of the city. The Merziety discussions and shared interests surround entropy, anthropocene and urban vs agriculture
