What are societies?
Societies are formed around certain aims or subjects of interest, organising workshops, lectures, seminars, outings, or social events. Clubs & Societies give the RCA community a place to mix, play, work and experiment. Each society is given £300 to spend on activities and can fundraise! To call yourself a society at the RCA, you must be affiliated with the SU.
New Year, New Societies - 2026/27
Later in the year you'll be able to sign up for our existing socieities on this page. But unlike most universities, the Royal College of Art has most of its students here for just one year. This means each year that most of our societies close and students start new societies based on their interests and ideas. There are a few socities continuing and a few others where some members are still here but we're looking for new people to lead the society.
You can use the form below to get involved with student societies for the upcoming academic year. You can express your interest to:
- Join an existing society.
- Suggest a new society you'd like to see.
- Found and lead a brand new society.

Once societies have been set up we'll put society leaders in touch with potential members and you can start meeting up and planning your activities for the year.
If you want to run a society or set up a new society, you'll be invited to training in a few weeks time to understand how our societies work and what you need to do.
