Criteria for Establishing a Society at RCASU

To establish a new society at RCASU, prospective founders must fill out the society application form. In this form, you will outline the intended aims and objectives of the society  (e.g. workshops, outings, or socials) and you must gather 10 student signatories - listing their student email addresses.

As part of our budget allocation for the remainder of the academic year, we’re able to provide £200 per society for applications submitted in Term 2.

If you would like to proceed, please fill out the RCASU Society Application Form, providing details such as:

  • The proposed name of the society.

  • A summary of the society’s objectives and planned activities.

  • Contact details of the primary organiser(s) (e.g., president, secretary).

  • The list of 10 student signatories.

By applying to establish a society, you agree to comply with the affiliation requirements of the RCASU, which include:

.

  • Proper use of funding provided for society activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Demonstrating inclusivity and openness to all RCA students who wish to join.

Approval Process

Once the application form is submitted, it will be reviewed by the RCASU. Upon approval, the society will be formally recognised and affiliated, allowing it to use the RCASU branding, access funding, and participate in SU-supported events.
