Results

After Weeks of campaigning, days of voting and hours of nervous waiting, the results for the RCA Elections are finally here. Thanks to everyone who voted, ran and supported the elections. We're pleased to annount that we had the best % turnout we've had in 5 years with 17% of all students taking part.

A huge congratulations to our new President and Vice-President. We're so excited for you to start, to get to know you more and can't wait help you represent students at the RCA next year.

To those who didn't win, condolences. You ran amazing campaigns and I wish we could have elected more officers, you've been amazing. Its our loss that someone else will be benefitting from your skills and expereinc next year.

The detailed results of our election can be found in the slide deck below. The RCA SU uses the single transferable vote system for our elections. This means that candidates are ranked in order of preference on ballots. The candidates then need to reach a quota to be elected. If no candidate reaches the quota (half the voters plus 1), the candidate with the least votes is eliminated and their votes redistributed. This process continues until one candidate is elected. A summary of the round by round voting appears below.

Note: If voters didn't list further preferences and their choice of candidate is eliminated then their ballot is not counted towards the quota in further rounds.
