Applying for Financial Assistance
RCA has two main financial assistance funds that can help students during times of financial difficulty: the Emergency Hardship Fund and the Materials Fund. There is information on the RCA Intranet about these funds and who can benefit from them.
To apply for either fund see the information under the headings below. You will need to address the questions that the application form asks to explain your current situation.
You will need to provide specific details regarding your income, any savings or family support and expenditure. You will need to provide two months of recent bank statements. The form also gives you the opportunity to provide any other evidencing documents, for example information showing changes in your personal circumstances.
Emergency Hardship Fund
The Emergency Hardship Fund support students with essential living costs, such as rent, food, medicine or exceptionally high gas or electricity bills, as a result of an unforeseen change in circumstance or a crisis.
Materials Fund
You can apply to the Materials Fund for support covering course material costs, partiularly if course material costs are taking taking money away from necessary purchases in your life, e.g. food and bills.
