BSL Society will host practice sessions where you can:
Learn the visual language of communication for faster development compared to verbal language - Weekly language sessions covering different categories.
Achieve awards through monthly challenges to showcase your skills, build your confidence, and improve your communication skills.
Enhance your CV by adding proficiency in BSL so that you can effectively communicate with customers or clients who are deaf or hard of hearing, depending on their communication preferences.
Who We Are:
The BSL Society is led by President Shalini Perera and Vice-President Nova Ma, both students in MA Interior Design. Shalini, who is deaf and uses a mix of oral communication and British Sign Language, has successfully taught some students who find sign language fascinating and easy to learn with an understanding of visual communication. Nova is confident in understanding basic BSL.
Other committee members are also pursuing MA in Interior Design and are beginners in British Sign Language:
